Harbour Architecture Cruise

Experience the city and harbour foreshores on Saturday 7 July from aboard the ‘Deerubbun’.

This is a ninety-minute narrated cruise led by architect Nick Hollo. who will give you an insight into the architecture surrounding the foreshores of Sydney.

The boat departs at 2.45pm from Eastern Pontoon at Circular Quay and tickets are $38.00.

Architecture's Second Cut

‘Architecture’s Second Cut’ Exhibition and Talk is to be held in the National Trust Headquarters at Observatory Hill.

The exhibition starts 2 July and is open from 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday until the 6 August and admission is free.

There is also free admission to the talk by all participating architects at 6pm on Monday 9th July at the National Trust, this will be a fast paced audio visual show with a commentary by each architect on their project.

Copying the Archibald Prize Salon des Refuse, the exhibition features a selection of entries that did NOT receive an award in this years Architecture Awards run by the RAIA NSW Chapter.

This is the first time the AAA, the RAIA and the National Trust have collaborated on a joint project.

AAA and Belle in Brisbane

AAA and Belle magazine are joining forces again to lead a tour of contemporary architecture.

This time the focus is on Brisbane on Saturday 22 September starting at 9.30am.

Join some of Australia’s finest architects as they guide you through recent projects.

Lindsay Clare from Architectus will explain the new Queensland Gallery of Contemporary Art, whilst Donovan Hill, Britt Andresen, and Elizabeth Watson-Brown and Peter Skinner will take you through the interiors of recent houses.

AAA tours in Sydney Design 07

The AAA is a Sydney Design 07 partner and this year we are offering 35 tours throughout the design festival.

Starting on Saturday 4 August, there are tours running throughout every weekend of SD07 and many during the week including the annual Bluescope Steel tour on 15 August which includes a visit to a new house by architect Clinton Murray.

There is a focus on the work of the late Harry Seidler, with a tour of his own office and apartment complex at Milsons Point on Tuesday 7 August followed on Sunday 12 August by a tour of his towers led by architectural scholar Gevork Hartoonian.

The popular Surry Hills tour and Castlecrag tours will both be run several times during SD07, as will the City Bar tour.
