Special General Meeting a success

Last night, 15 December, 80 members gathered in the Seidler apartment on a balmy Sydney evening and unanimously adopted the two Special Resolutions put to the membership.

There was a terrific response from the members to the notice and more than three quarters sent in proxies or attended the meeting ensuring a successful outcome.

The successful passing of the two special resolutions this evening should see the AAA being included on the register of cultural organisations early in the New Year. This will be another important and strategic difference that the AAA will have made to the perception of architecture in Australia since being formed.
— Glenn Murcutt, President and chair of the meeting.

Zumthor first speaker in Black

Peter Zumthor will give the first talk in Black. He will be in Sydney on Sunday 5 September and in Melbourne on Tuesday 7 September.

Tickets will go on sale at the end of June. A promotional poster with ticketing directions will go out shortly and members of the AAA will benefit from significant discounts ranging from 25% to 50% off the full ticket price.

White is the name and brand of the AAA tours

‘White’ is tours of architecture that will open the world of architecture to everyone in the Australian community.

White has been chosen as the name of the architecture tours because it suggests a space waiting to be filled up with information about architecture and is considered the starting point of understanding for non-architects.
